Our magician friend Kalle Kuhbach gave us the inspiration for this trick. After many attempts, discussions and prototypes, we were able to create an effect sequence that amazes and entertains.

You show three different coloured cubes with 10 cm edge length and stack the cubes on top of each other several times in different order in the course of a few gags. No problem, square bases stack well, even if you are clumsy. It becomes more difficult when a round body comes into play. Can an orange be placed between two cubes (for example) without this tower toppling over? You want to give it a try. But before that, put the third (blue) cube in an empty, small box, put the lid on it and put it visibly to one side.

The balancing act that now follows goes wrong, but you have an idea! In the course of the funny routine, you borrow a banknote which, when folded, is supposed to stop the orange from rolling away so that the cube can balance on it. When folded, however, the note turns into an IOU, which you give back to the spectator. Then try it in another way. You show a tube empty and put it over one of the dice lying on the table. The spectator can even decide which cube it should be. Then you throw the orange into the tube. Finally, the second cube goes into the top of the tube. So the sequence is: one cube on the table, on top of it the orange, on top of it the second cube, all supported by the tube.

For safety's sake, show the third cube in the box again by lifting the lid. Now all you have to do is carefully pull the tube upwards without bumping it and, with a bit of luck, the upper cube will rest balanced on the orange without falling off! The tension increases, the tube is pulled up - and you see that the orange has disappeared and instead the third cube has moved from the casket between the other two into the tube. The tube can be shown empty! Is it really the cube from the casket that has taken its old place? You open the box - and out falls the orange! So far, so good. But what about the borrowed banknote? You answer this question brutally with a knife by cutting open the orange without any suspicious movement and taking out the banknote from inside the tropical fruit. Of course, it is the spectator's note, which can be easily proven by the number you wrote down beforehand! The advantages of our version: The cube size of 10 cm makes the trick look good even on large stages, the precise workmanship allows the demonstration even in the living room! The tube can easily be shown empty, no cube has to be loaded secretly. The change of places is fully automatic. For the change of place of the banknote we supply an easy to execute method. Only the knife (large, sharp kitchen knife) you have to get yourself. But you can believe us: with our explanation, loading the banknote into the orange becomes child's play!
